Stack On Dehumidifier Review
The Stack On dehumidifier is great option for removing moisture from your keezer or fermentation chamber. It’s designed to be used in a closet or safe but the cold doesn’t bother it. It’s rated for six weeks before recharges but you’ll need it sooner with the freezer’s moisture.

The Stack On dehumidifier is cordless so there is no need to plug it in. It’s easily rechargeable with its power cord. Yeah I said power cord but the dehumidifier works without it. The cord is used to vent out the moisture when the moisture absorber is full ( green ). It’s a standard 110V plug with no ground. Plug it in somewhere moisture proof like a garage for eight to ten hours to fully recharge.
This thing is actually rated for up 100 square feet. It’s really amazing considering how small the dehumidifier is. I place mine in my freezers basket but you could easily toss it between your kegs. There isn’t a screw mount available for mounting it to the collar so it just has to sit somewhere.

My freezer tended to build up ice on the sides that would pool water on the bottom or build up over time. Running a freezer as keezer doesn’t let your freezer go into defrost mode. Without defrost the moisture will eventually either pool on the bottom or build up as ice depending on your temperature. Technically you could ignore it for quite awhile before it caused problems but eventually screws will rust and wood collars will rot. A fermentation chamber is even more important as mold or other things could form and risk infection.
Four weeks is the average time I’m getting out of my dehumidifier before recharging. It generally only takes eight hours to vent the moisture. Winter is currently upon us so I’m venting in my bathroom. I’ll go with the garage when it gets warmer. I’ve only recharged once but the dehumidifier works just as well as when I first opened it.
The Stack On dehumidifier isn’t a big cost addition to your project. I got mine at the local Menards for $18.99 on an 11% sale. Amazon usually has it for a good price as well. Buy it to protect your keezer or your precious fermenting beer from moisture problems.
PROS:
- Cheap
- Small
- Rechargeable
- Cordless
- Long Lasting
CONS:
- No Mounting Point
- Over time the sticker around the moisture absorbing beads will peel off. This allows them to fall out.
